Our Ashdon

Nestled amongst the farmlands of northern Essex, Ashdon Parish is home to a thriving village and farming community.  Our 850 inhabitants are from all walks of life, some born here, some moved in from elsewhere, but the common bond was back then, is today, and will be forever, the fabulous Ashdon way of life.

Farming and related activities play an important role in keeping our Parish alive and healthy, but Ashdon is also home to tradesmen, craftsmen, scientists, businessmen and the retired.  We have a pub (temporarily closed for renovation), a weekly Post Office mobile service, a primary school, pre-school and a museum.  We have many small businesses, dozens of clubs and societies, and community events throughout the year.
